Robert is Chairman and CEO of YCH Group (www.ych.com), Singapore’s leading end-to-end Supply Chain Company with operations that span across the entire Asia Pacific region. YCH provides award-winning SCM solutions to world-class companies such as Dell, Motorola, LG, Samsung, ExxonMobil, Unilever, LVMH and Royal FrieslandCampina.
With more than 30 years of experience in the Logistics and SCM field, Robert graduated from the Harvard Business School Owner President Management (OPM) program in 1994; and was conferred Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D), honoris causa, in Business Administration in 2001 by Wisconsin International University. In April 2009, he was also appointed as Honorary Adjunct Professor by the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong, to share his immense business knowledge and experience in supply chain excellence across Asia.
Robert serves various consultative appointments and advisory roles to numerous national & regional government strategic committees, more notably advising regional Heads of Government in the ASEAN-Business Advisory Council since 2003, where he was also appointed Chairman from 2007 to 2009. Currently, he is also a Council Member of the Singapore Business Federation and further holds the appointment of Chairman, ASEAN Business Group. Robert also sits on the Boards of International Enterprise Singapore (IES), Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Singapore Customs’ Advisory Committee and is a Council Member of various collaborative trade councils such as STETC, SJCC, SGCC, SZTEC, SSTIC endorsed by the governments of Singapore and China.
Robert Yap was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the 2nd ASIA Logistics Award in 2003 for his significant contributions and thought-leadership to the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) industry. In addition, he was also bestowed the IT Leaders Award in 2003 by the Singapore Computer Society for his contribution to the IT industry in innovating and implementing world-class SCM Solutions. Robert was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year (EOY) Singapore 2007 and represented Singapore at the World EOY Awards held in Monte Carlo in 2008, where he was subsequently inducted as a lifetime member of the World EOY Academy.
