FedEx has commenced five-times-weekly Boeing 777F service from its Memphis International Airport hub to Taipei’s Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. In addition to boosting the carrier’s coverage of the Taiwanese market, this move will extend by two hours cutoff times for U.S.-bound shipments from Taiwan. In a press release, FedEx Express explained that surging trade levels between the U.S. and Taiwan propelled the demand for the new route. Last year, in fact, Taiwanese exports to the U.S. swelled 15.6 percent, year-over-year, while bilateral trade between the two nations reached $67 billion. The addition of this new service brings the total number of FedEx 777F routes connecting the Asia Pacific to the U.S and Europe to nine, according to the news release.
